The Blissi Tebil is an Ivorian dish made with ripe plantains braised and grilled peanuts. Its name is attributed to a famous Ivorian artist, Blissi Tebil, who decided to go on a hunger strike to express his dissatisfaction with the difficult conditions faced by Ivorian musicians. After half a day of strike, he was caught eating braised plantains with grilled peanuts, breaking his impromptu fast. Since then, the dish has been named "Blissi Tebil" in his honor and has become popular among the Ivorian population, without exception.
