Koki, also known as "cornille cake" in French, is a typical dish from Cameroon. Its color is a golden yellow, and it's prepared with wild beans and palm oil. The term "koki" also refers to the white bean that is essential for preparing this dish.
Traditionally, koki is enjoyed with plantains, bananas, macabo, or yam. However, it can also be served with cassava. Originating from Cameroon, it comes from the Mbo'o culture in the Littoral region, specifically from the Moungo department. It's often referred to as "mbo'o koki." Koki is steamed in a banana leaf wrapper, giving it a fruity aroma and a beautiful golden yellow color.
